Great stuff! Do I read you right that the added stress-issue of being in ketosis when e.g. under high emotional stress can be mitigated by something like a CKD of 5 days keto /2 days carbs? Or how much carbohydrate use would be needed to sustain a ketogenic diet long term in such a case?

Yes, that's right. There is no perfect schedule I'd look to, but this 5+2 schedule has worked really well for many. When it comes to carbohydrate intake on this plan, I'd typically suggest to keep it identical to normal when consuming a ketogenic plan, and then eat as many carbs as wanted (within reason) on those 2 days. The only thing that needs attention is the return to ketosis the next day. Using both C8 Oil and some exercise (eg. 30 minutes moderate run) to 'empty' the liver's supply of carbohydrates can make a real difference here and ensure that the individual is back in nutritional ketosis quickly... of course, this is a very rough outline of what is called for, each of us can check how this works for them (and if extra steps are even necessary) by measuring their ketones! Especially as they now know how to do it ;)
